A widget to recommend learning resources based on the learner affective state

چکیده
This paper describes the Learning Resources Affective Recommender, a widget that recommends resources to the learner based on her current affective state and her learning objectives. The widget is meant to be used in a Personalized Learning Environment in combination with widgets to search for resources. The architecture that supports the widget follows a client-server pattern, with the widget as the client and a recommendation service on the server side. The paper includes the description of both client and server and a discussion about the possibilities of this approach.

متن کاملEvaluating Learner Experience from Affective Cues
Learning with computers is typically self-paced. Appraisal of the learner’s experience is therefore crucial for making machine-learner interactions ‘truly intelligent’ and instinctive. As a significant aspect of Affective Learning, affect recognition needs to be considered in light of its implications and appliance to computer based learning environments. Drawing on this motivation, I propose t...
متن کاملSubliminally Enhancing Self-esteem: Impact on Learner Performance and Affective State
The purpose of this work is to enhance learner self-esteem while interacting with a tutoring system. An experimental study has been conducted to analyze the impact of this method on participants’ reported self-esteem on one hand and learning performance on the other hand. Furthermore, three p...
